Elizabeth Okwirry Mitchell

Elizabeth Okwirry Mitchell has a profound love for God, who has given her His heart to love unconditionally with no judgments. She is an empath with an innate gift of listening to hurting hearts, which allows her to feel, relate, and connect on the deepest level.

Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Elizabeth has been a global citizen from an early age. She’s attended school in multiple countries including her native Kenya, the U.K., and the U.S – where she has lived since moving here for college in her early twenties. Elizabeth spent the first half of her professional career working in human resources, where she spent decades going above and beyond for her fellow employees’ needs. Then in 2011, Elizabeth lost her father and saw first hand how unprepared she and her loved ones were to deal with grief. The experience made her realize that she wanted to help others navigate that pain, sparking her career shift to counseling.

Elizabeth has now been a licensed minister since January 2013 and has coached and counseled people through all seasons of life. Her specialties include certifications in Trauma Healing from the Trauma Healing Institute at American Bible Society through Quest Movement and Grief Recovery from The Grief Recovery Institute. But none of these qualify her to minister to your soul as much as the experiences God has allowed her to suffer through and in preparation for you.

A survivor of narcissistic abuse and other emotional trauma, Elizabeth is also passionate about working with people who have suffered from similar kinds of abuse. Her process includes working prayerfully and collaboratively with you in hope of facilitating the restoration process back to wholeness.

Elizabeth’s guiding scripture is Isaiah 61: 1-3, “The Spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”

Elizabeth is also the mother of two beautiful adult daughters, Sylvia and Christine.
